/dev/color brings together hundreds of professional Black software engineers, allies and supporters from around the country to share learnings, insights, and support one another’s professional growth. It is the exclusive national conference for professional Black software engineers.
This year marks the 5th annual conference, which coincides with the 5th year anniversary of /dev/color. In other words, the conference will be bigger and better than ever before!
The #DCIM5 theme is "From Isolation to Inspiration." It symbolizes a critical inflection point -- at the turn of the decade, with /dev/color approaching it's 5th year anniversary -- as our collective focus shifts from fitting in to standing out.
To date, /dev/color has worked to build a rich community of Black software engineers who are empowered to help one another grow into positions of industry leadership. We remain committed to ensuring more Black software engineers can find a supportive network of highly ambitious peers who reinforce their sense of belonging in tech.
That said, our ultimate goal is to empower Black software engineers to help one another develop the technical skills, savvy, influence and access points they need in order to excel as tech leaders. In so doing they'll be positioned to create greater pathways for future Black software engineering leaders to follow. This outlook will define the 5th annual DCIM experience.
